Firth - ‘A long narrow inlet of the sea; an estuary.’ This is the point where a river meets the expanse of the sea having journeyed down from the mountains. Specifically, in the highlands of Scotland, rivers such as The Spey flow into the North Sea through The Moray Firth, not far from where I spent my early childhood years.
